We need to realize the ultimate truth
[of nonduality], but as Nagarjuna, one of the great Indian ancestors,
says, 'in order to realize the ultimate truth you must be completely
grounded in the conventional truth,' which means the precepts of ethical
conduct, and so on. If we neglect how we are taking care of ourselves
and other people, then it is actually impossible to realize the ultimate
truth.
