Texas GOP Rips Gay People--And What You Can Do About It

Last month, the Texas Republican Party voted on a new party platform that bans “adoption by homosexuals” and vehemently opposes “custody of children by homosexuals, homosexual partner insurance or retirement benefits.” In addition to making it a felony to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, the Texas Republican party believes LGBT people “contribute [ ] to the breakdown of the family unit.” What LGBT families in Texas can do: live your lives, show your pride, go out in public and let people see you. The Texas GOP wants us to go away. Don’t. Be more visible. Submit your stories to us or author an op-ed for a Texas newspaper. (We can help you.)

  1. Special rights for people with special sex habits are ridiculous. If gays weren't so busy showing their "pride" they would have much fewer problems. And you are right, many do believe that the gay agenda is breaking down the family. When sex acts dictate a whole thought pattern and lifestyle there is something wrong with that. Moreover, most of us don't want what you do in the bedroom crammed down our throats or forced on our children.

  2. Sorry ANON (who does not have the guts to sign his/her post) you just spewed a line of bigoted hog wash... the family is breaking down all on its own... GLBT people cannot be held responsible for the 50% divorce rate... that's just plane nutty! No glbt makes two adults get married or divorced... you'all need to police yourselves and quit blaming others for your own bigoted dysfunction.
