A personal blog by a graying (mostly Anglo with light African-American roots) gay left leaning liberal progressive married college-educated Buddhist Baha'i BBC/NPR-listening Professor Emeritus now following the Dharma in Minas Gerais, Brasil.
When
we suffer less, we are less prone to cause harm to others. We are less
consumed by our suffering. When we are not as consumed by suffering, we
can connect with our natural capacity for empathy, and compassion. This
compassion is founded on clarity and realization of our
interconnectedness.
Rebecca Li, “Remembering as an Act of Cultivating Clear Awareness”
In
this film, Young-mok desperately searches for enlightenment before his
death through intense Zen practice. Meanwhile, his girlfriend searches
