A Buddhist Take on AI
Artificial Intelligence is becoming an increasingly unavoidable part of our lives. But that doesn’t mean we have to be controlled by it or fearful of it.

Buddhist wisdom can support us in our choice to skillfully use or not use AI while still upholding our ethical and spiritual values. This is what we’ll explore in a brand-new video offering from Lewis Richmond, beginning November 15.

The 11-day series of emails for Tricycle subscribers will include reflections and contemplative practices to help us make sense of AI and respond wisely to issues exacerbated by AI, including deepfakes, the endless barrage of a questionably trustworthy news cycle, and unhealthy attachment to or caused by technology. We’ll also discuss what intelligence and aliveness mean, and the supreme importance of kindness.

“I'm offering a different kind of engaged Buddhism,” says Richmond. “It’s one that embraces technological change without being pulled down by it or drawn into it too much, and one that allows you to keep a clear, open mind of compassion as you bear witness to this changing world.”

The series is free for Tricycle subscribers. Sign up here, or subscribe if you’re not already, to get started on November 15!
P.S. Not sure yet if the series is right for you? Sign up for our free workshop with Richmond on November 12 at 2 p.m. ET to explore the topic in more detail.

There Is a Path
We can’t really see beyond the place we’re standing, so all we can do is trust that there is a path, that we can walk it, and that it’ll eventually take us where we want to go.
