If
we are to fulfill our ethical responsibilities, it’s not enough simply
to adopt the Buddhist precepts as guides to personal conduct, live a
life of moral integrity, and cultivate thoughts of lovingkindness and
compassion in the comfort of our meditation halls. It’s crucial for us
to enter the sphere of action.
